“Greece needs to reduce its debt to 110% of the GDP by 2022,” Chancellor Angela Merkel said, when answering a question posed by a Greek reader of Bild, who participated in a panel put together by the German newspaper.
Maria Sarafidou, a woman of Greek origin, was among the people who posed several questions to the Chancellor in view of the elections of September 22 through the newspaper Bild.
Sarafidou asked, “For how long does Greece have to be financially supported?” Merkel answered, “This depends mainly on the developments in Greece.” “Greece’s debt should be reduced by 110% of the GDP by 2022. But until then, Greece has to make many changes,” Merkel added and Sarafidou agreed.
